One stage is the constant velocity drying stage, during which a large amount of water is discharged from the refractory bricks. When the ambient temperature, humidity and other conditions remain unchanged, the water discharge rate is approximately constant, so it is called the constant velocity drying stage. In addition, the evaporation of water only occurs on the surface of the body, and the drying rate is equal to the evaporation rate of water, so any rate that affects the surface evaporation can affect the drying rate.

The second stage is the reduced-speed drying stage. As the drying time increases, the moisture in the refractory brick body decreases, the effective evaporation area in the body decreases, and the drying speed gradually decreases. In addition, the rate of moisture evaporation from the surface exceeds the rate of diffusion from the inside of the body to the surface, so the drying rate is less affected by the temperature, humidity and movement speed of the air.

The three stages are the equilibrium drying stage. At this time, the drying speed gradually approaches zero, and the moisture in the green body no longer decreases. The moisture remaining in the refractory brick body is equal to the equilibrium water absorbed by the solid particles. The content of equilibrium water depends on the nature of the material, the particle size and the temperature and humidity of the drying medium.
